Buying from a Business

When you buy from a commercial party, you have some certainty that some recourse can be taken if you are not provided with what you purchased. The exception to that is the scam artist that puts up a website or hangs a sign on a shack and takes your money, never to be seen again. We have seen a couple of scam artists who would do exactly that. And if they had a web site get closed down, they would just go to another resource and open a new one claiming to be in business. The good part is that the majority of companies out there are legitimate.

Purchasing from a legitimate business affords you some protection. You know up front what type of warranty you will get with your phone. And you can file official complaints with the Attorney General should a business fail to carry out its end of the deal.

We have already said that most rebuilt phones come with only a 30 to 90 day warranty. There are actually a few companies out there that will offer a 6 month warranty and in a even more limited number of companies, a full one year warranty. The same warranty as would be offered on a new phone. Even if the phone costs more to buy with the one year warranty, you still got a good deal. Try purchasing that phone brand new and see how much it will cost you. You could pay double or in some cases triple the cost of the used phone.

About the only time you will need to look at a used phone is if your phone was lost, stolen or damaged. Your only other option is to replace it with a new phone at full retail price. The price could be a real whopper too. Consider your options before you make a decision either way.
