Other Novelty Products Available On The Market

There are so many new items out there that we couldn’t possibly list all of them in this book. However, we will list a few of the unique items that you may have to look around for to find them. Not many retailers will carry these products.

Vibrating Pen - We have already mentioned the vibrating pen that indicates an incoming call by vibrating. Well, there are even some out there that flash.

The Aqua Seal Pak - This nifty product allows you to seal your cellular phone within the pack and keep it waterproof up to 150 feet depth. Take it in your shower and talk on the cellular phone if you want. Fishermen would love something like this in case they accidentally drop their phone. And yes, it will allow you to talk on the phone even sealed inside the package.

AA Cellular Phone Battery - This is manufactured for the Motorola Tac series phones. It uses four (4) rechargeable AA NiMh batteries to be placed in the case. Then you attach it to the back of the phone and you have power.

Zinc Air Batteries - Still in production by a company out of Israel. These batteries are disposable and cannot be recharged. However, they offer something to the effect of 4 to 5 days of talk time before they have depleted their charge. Environmentally safe too. They can be thrown in with regular trash since they are biodegradable.

Hand & Foot Cellular Phone Power Generators – the company is called Nissho USA. What they have designed is a line of manually powered generators. The Aladdin Power product line has two human powered generators. The handheld unit for the cellular phone generates 1.6 watts of power, just enough to continue using a cellular phone. However, you will have to continuously pump the generator to keep power supplied to the phone. These generators will not recharge a dead battery, merely keep it going for a little longer. 10 pumps will hold a charge for about 1 minute.

The other unit is a step charge generating 6 watts of power for the use of a laptop. Once again the user will have to continuously step down on the foot pedal.

Both units use the standard cigarette lighter charger to connect with the device. They weight about 11 ounces and measure about 5.5 inches in length. The handheld set will retail for about $45 and the foot pedal unit will retail for about $75 each.

Colored Leather Cases - Motorola is the most dominant phone on the market and gets the most attention in this case. The Motorola TAC Series phone also has leather cases that come in yellow, red, blue, and green. These are NOT made of neoprene. (The spongy substance that is used on diving suits.). Other types of cases out there are very different. Pseudo snake skin cases, transparent swivel phone cases, and many more.

Holograms - There are now a variety of holograms available for the Nokia 5100 & 6100 series phones. These are placed on the LCD screen on the phone. Some of them are fairly unusual. Once these catch on with manufacturers, distributors, and consumers, they should become more widely available on the market.

Colored Face Plates - Right now you will only find them for a few select Nokia and Motorola phones. Since Nokia is one of the more popular phones on the market, they have the majority of the monopoly on novel faceplates. Everything from metallic colors to your favorite college sports team. We would forewarn any potential entrepreneurs that Nokia regulates the faceplate sales of sports teams. Do not get busted doing copies or infringing on a sports team’s franchise license. It will be expensive for you to do so if you are caught.
