Related Cellular Phone User Services

There are numerous related services to cellular phones available. We have listed just a few of them here. You would be surprised to find just how many services are available out there to cellular phone users.

One of the reasons people want WAP service is to check email messages. For those of you who do not want to hassle with buying a new phone, an alternative service is iByphone.

iByphone: A service offering the busy cellular phone user an opportunity to check email messages without the hardware. The way the service works is that you call a Toll Free telephone number and an operator will take your call. Visit our website at www.earthvisioncellular.com and you will find them on our main page.

You simply tell the operator that you are looking for email messages. They allow you to customize your request in looking for specific emails to be read. You can also send out emails to an individual or do an email broadcast.

When sending email messages, they will appear as if they came from your own desktop computer. Security is intact since the user must present the operator with a PIN number to access or send messages. The nice thing about this service is that it offers human interaction. They may now be offering "personal assistant" services as well.

As we mentioned, a lost or stolen phone can be costly to a cellular phone user. You should seriously consider cellular phone insurance.

Cellular Phone Insurance: This is a recommended service. If your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged, you have some recourse on getting another cellular phone. You want to review the contract to ensure that they will provide a "loaner" cellular phone while your phone is being repaired. Keep in mind that this insurance can be expensive so you should evaluate how much the phone is worth and if the annual fee and deductible combined make the purchase of this service is worthwhile.

Need to travel, but you don’t have a cellular phone handy? You can always look at renting a cellular phone either for domestic or international purposes. Quite a few of the car rental companies also offer cellular phones for rent.

Cellular Phone Rentals: This service is limited in what it can offer and the cost per minute may or may not be a viable option. The service areas, although in the major markets, are still limited to specific areas in North America. And if you are traveling abroad, there are phone rental companies offering GSM phones.

And if you are looking to reduce your monthly long distance calls using an analog cellular phone you can always consider using a postpaid calling card.

Calling Cards: For those using the traditional analog service, most phones allow for you to program in calling card information. Debit (postpaid) cards usually charge a lower fee for long distance charges than what the carrier will offer. Make sure that the calling card you are using will not have a surcharge for initiating a call. The big 5 long distance companies such as AT&T, MCI, Sprint, Frontier, etc. all charge 25 to 35 cents to initiate a call. Note: This service will not work with prepaid cellular phone services.
